The Demands
1.
The stems. Back. All of them. Even the muted ones. Especially the muted ones.
2.
"Make it sound bigger" must arrive with a budget proportional to the requested bigness.
3.
An end to temp-track tyranny. If you wanted the temp score, license the temp score. We both know why you can't.
4.
Recognition that "one more pass" is a number greater than one. It has always been greater than one.
5.
Exposure shall not be tendered as payment. The union has checked with every landlord in North America. None of them accept it.
Member Benefits
- Solidarity, mostly.
- A firm nod from another composer who gets it.
- Access to the union hall (a group chat).
- The right to say "per my union" in emails, which changes nothing but feels incredible.
- Grievance filing, for grievances. We have a box.
